No Nation Art Gallery in Collaboration with Defibrillator Gallery
This performance was already presented at an event in Sao Paulo (Brazil) during the summer but I was interested in the diversity of reactions to different social, political and cultural contexts. I was very satisfied with the result at No Nation since it became a more intimate act, different cultural perspectives and languages (Spanish, Portuguese and English) came into place, and the community building with artists and audience members that did not even share or understood the same language was possible through physical and emotional communication, through a sense of collectivity and belonging. At the end of the piece, we were already connected and tangled through the red thread, making it impossible for any movement to happen without the collective participation. The exposure of my physical body as an analogy of the fragility of the exposure of the personal feelings from everyone during the performance and the transcendental and ideological connection among the audience's members was materialized through the signatures in my body (which was the material contract of our manifesto) We were more than a bunch of strangers who share the love for the art, but a community of artists, a political collective, a family, which almost turned the performance into a ritual..
